Strategic Taste Model

Clarity determines how far an idea goes.

An idea is only as strong as its form.

If it is hard to follow — it will not be used.

If it is not used — it does not matter.

Core idea

Taste is not visual.
It is a decision about what to keep — and what to remove.

Good taste reduces friction between an idea and a person.

What is strategic taste

Strategic taste is the ability to:

  • Make thinking visible
  • Remove what distracts
  • Organise what remains

The system

1Structure

Clarity starts with separation.

  • One idea per block
  • No overlap
  • Clear order

If ideas are mixed — they compete.

2Reduction

Every extra element adds effort.

  • Remove words that don't change meaning
  • Shorten sentences
  • Remove repetition

What remains becomes stronger.

3Form

Ideas need shape.

  • Lists create order
  • Contrasts create understanding
  • Tables create comparison

Form is not decoration. It is how thinking is delivered.

4Consistency

Understanding comes from repetition.

  • Same structure
  • Same language
  • Same rhythm

This builds recognition.

Failure modes

  • Adding instead of removing
  • Trying to impress
  • Changing format every time
  • Hiding the main idea

Clarity test

If someone can:

  • →Read it quickly
  • →Explain it simply
  • →Remember the structure

Then it works. If not — remove more.

Final principle

What you remove defines what remains.
